Purpose in the Youth

Aug 23, 2017

Episode 51: Thinking back to his younger years Mason did not attend major events and stayed away from social settings because he was very self-conscious and was worried about what people might think of him. His social anxiety was and still is a daily struggle that he works on getting better at but overall things have changed quite a bit for him. At 21 years young, he is confident in his own skin and can laugh thinking back on who he used to be as he now is able to shoot photos on stage of crowds of 2,000+ people without hesitation. A great example that with time, you too can overcome your own obstacles. He grew up in the small town of 800 people in Huron, Ohio where he has lived all of his life. Growing up he tried playing a handful of sports such as basketball, football, baseball and even soccer but by the time he had reached high school, he was obsessed with video games and was making real money. He got a partnership with YouTube in their early stages and was releasing montage videos with his clan. The kids at his high school didn't think it was “cool” and would chuckle him in the hallways. He ended up leaving that school for one year mostly because of the harassment and by the time he returned for his senior year, it had died down a bit. Along the way he stumbled into his passion for photography and making videos which is his main focus. All it took was one semester of community college for him to realize school was not the route he needed to go and instead he continued to teach himself his craft and went out to learn on his own. Back in September 2016, Mason was invited on his first tour of the country where it opened his eyes to what this world has to offer. One of the main lessons he learned on the road which he has incorporated into his daily life is to just go with the flow because everything happens for a reason. In this episode Mason discusses how anything can come out the way you want it to, trying to create, shoot and capture something different than everyone else, you’re who you’re for a reason so don’t try to be someone you’re not, his struggles with being severely overweight, a question he wishes someone would ask him and don’t judge by what you see on the surface. — Subscribe to our YouTube Channel for new interviews (and more) weekly: http://bit.ly/2zprpon Follow us on Soundcloud: http://bit.ly/2hcSBws Subscribe to iTunes: http://apple.co/2yE0u9l Follow us on social media: Instagram: http://bit.ly/2j82AHF Follow Bobbbaaaay on social media: Instagram: http://bit.ly/2Ap24ce Twitter: http://bit.ly/2hj6Ljm
